I have just had the most fun,co-teaching two classes with a fabulous printmaker and friend, Lynn Taylor
We taught a class for Design students , at Otago Polytechnic, called “Print and Page“, this was about exploring printmaking, and various bookbinding techniques and to develop their own finished project, The final results were outstanding.
And we taught a one day workshop for a group of talented craftswomen, whose skills ranged from patchworking, bookbinding, embroidery, and goldsmithing , plus 2 graduate student printmakers. We had the generous use of the Textile Dept at Dunedin School of Art for this class, with a fantastic sunny room and big tables. This was ” The Narrative Page ” class. Lynn taught Gelatine printing in the morning and then I taught, collageing the printed pages and sewing them into a side sewn contempory binding. This was such a fun , exhausting day, with lots of experimentation and lots of ideas, and a finished book to take away, all topped off with luckydip prizes and homemade cake at the end off the day.
